But I don't like anime
I've tried so many times to enjoy anime. I've watched an episode here and there of the next big show and none of them grabbed me. I always thought that maybe anime just wasn't for me. But, it turns out I just hadn't found my niche yet.
It all started in Tokyo. Every shop was bright, noisy and overwhelming. Full of every character or show you could think of and something that kept showing up was a little pink haired girl and her big white dog. I was intrigued, who was this cute duo?

And that's how I found Spy X Family. A serious and silly anime about a spy forming a family and unknowingly choosing an assassin wife and telepath daughter and all of them are hiding their skills from each other.
So, now there was one anime I enjoyed, but could that really be the only one for me?
Fortunately not. I stumbled on the 'slice of life' niche and haven't looked back.
So, maybe I actually do like anime.
So far I've watched:
Frieren: Beyond Journey's End
Elf mage Frieren and her fellow adventurers have defeated the Demon King and brought peace to the land. But what happens now? Frieren goes off on a journey by herself but promises to meet the party in 50 years for the next meteor shower. Frieren can live for hundreds of years, so 50 years doesn't seem too long, even though it's a lifetime for a human.
After returning and finding her friends old and nearing death, we follow Frieren as she reflects on her time with the heroes party and what they meant to her.
Initially, I was expecting Frieren to be about what happens after the battle is complete, but then it was about something else entirely. Once I got past these expectations I enjoyed coming along for the adventure with Frieren, Fern and Stark as Frieren relives and reflects on her memories with her new party.
A Place Further Than the Universe
Mari is lamenting that she hasn't done anything with her life. She wants to do something exciting and have an adventure before finishing high school. Then she meets Shirase, a girl who is determined to go to Antarctica. Her mother went on an expedition there and never came home. Everyone laughs at Shirase's big dream of going to Antarctica, but can she and Mari make it a reality?
This show was so cute! I loved the friendship between the girls and joining them on their adventure.
Do It Yourself!
Serufu is a bit of a klutz. She can't seem to do anything without getting hurt. One day, on her way to school she falls of her bike and Rei, one of her class mates, fixes it for her.
She finds out that Rei runs a DIY club but has no members and it'll be closed down if she doesn't get 5 people to join. Serufu joins and tries to recruit other members to save the club.
I haven't finished this yet, but it's another cute one about female friendship. It makes me wish I was part of a DIY club making cute and cool items!
